In Out of the Studio, Carolyn Carr conflates the natural world with surreal leaning arrangements. Known for her multimedia installations and experimental photography, in this body of work, Carr's formal approach continues with the arraignment of plant life and minerals native to Western North Carolina, en plein air utilizing a box easel employing natural light and shadow.
